Egyptian Marathon Events is the official organizer behind Egypt’s longest-established and internationally recognized road races, including the historic Egyptian Marathon in Luxor, the Cairo Marathon, and a wide selection of half‑marathons, fun runs, and charitable races across the country.

Our Story

Founded over 30 years ago, the Egyptian Marathon – Luxor is the oldest continuous marathon event in both Africa and the Middle East. Today, Egyptian Marathon Events continues this proud legacy by welcoming amateur and elite runners from around the world to race through iconic historical routes, from the temple of Hatshepsut to the Colossi of Memnon in Luxor.

What We Offer

Full Marathon (42.195 km) – an AIMS-certified and UTMB‑Indexed route in Luxor.

Half Marathon, 12 km, 5 km distances, as well as walk/run options in both Luxor and Cairo.

The Cairo Marathon, organized by community innovators Cairo Runners, offering multiple fun-running formats, including 5 km, 10 km, half marathon, and family events, with early-bird to full-kit ticket options.

In partnership with The TriFactory, we also deliver mass-participation events like the Pyramids Half Marathon, Trailmaster Wadi Degla, and Somabay Endurance Festival, plus fun runs, Relay challenges, and Tough Mudder experiences in Egypt.
