Since its inception, the XTERRA Rotorua Festival has grown to become one of the best XTERRA events in the world. Each year we offer seven events for competitors to choose from and are set in and around Rotorua’s Lake Tikitapu and Whakarewarewa Forest. It is without question amongst the most beautiful scenery in New Zealand.

Every year we select a course that showcases the best trails to encourage great racing and showcase everything Whakarewarewa forest has to offer. This event is perfect for mountain biking and general fitness athletes with mountain bike experience and is set in stunning forest scenery and on world class trails. To compete in the mountain bike long course, it is recommended that you can confidently ride at least a Grade 3 mountain bike trail.
