Challenge Samarkand is a middle- and sprint-distance triathlon held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, set against the city’s historic Silk Road landmarks. The race features a 1.9 km swim in a rowing lake, an 86 km bike through the city’s iconic sites like the Registan Ensemble and Bibi Khanum Mosque, and a 21.5 km flat run looping around the rowing canal and ancient city area. The event also offers a festival atmosphere with a women’s run, kids’ run, live entertainment, and local hospitality, attracting both professional and amateur athletes from around the world.
